Google has decided to finally revamp its nearly forgotten Blogger interface, but sadly the result is <a href="https://abertoatedemadrugada.com/2020/05/blogger-estreia-novo-interface-que-e.html">far from perfect</a>. Thankfully, there's a way to make it look a lot more like the previous Blogger, with the help of some tweaked CSS.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Though there are a lot of bugs, missing features, and assorted annoyances, related to the new blogger interface (truth be told, the blogger team is doing its best to fix most of the issues), the first and most annoying thing blogger users notice is the new, dreaded, post list that went from being a list to a "card view" that wastes lots of space.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKG5hplHuNcv4fbKyS19cGjhzwuq4ygHIlzvpNls-lePuq4AHvH2JkopzfFz-9X4TVirYvq2p9B3QEUGZoc3uIXCCBe4BDcCNTZ4cc7eiyymQtCi-jIM4Q5c1Lj8Sw4TrDPxG1q69M6bE/s0/newblogger.jpg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0px; text-align: center;"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="962" data-original-width="1620" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKG5hplHuNcv4fbKyS19cGjhzwuq4ygHIlzvpNls-lePuq4AHvH2JkopzfFz-9X4TVirYvq2p9B3QEUGZoc3uIXCCBe4BDcCNTZ4cc7eiyymQtCi-jIM4Q5c1Lj8Sw4TrDPxG1q69M6bE/s560/newblogger.jpg" /></a></div><br />Even on full-screen, you'll likely get under 10 posts visible on the list, which isn't nearly enough for higher volume blogs and, worse of all, it makes a lot harder to have a sense of the posts dates, published / scheduled status, etc. But with the help of some tweaked CSS, you can get it to look like this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFhdPuJ1k40xaJsV26dVruOlO4d88VtRSH9u38Zuq2J8iI6A_5dtCkBKkLjKXUFecUxzMTbXve2aFjvCLpFAd7PScWgfjpV0XJYWoC5cMkbNIvw4b5dUTytOo8O5AuLimrFCfErJryuMo/s0/compactblogger.jpg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0px; text-align: center;"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="936" data-original-width="1612" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFhdPuJ1k40xaJsV26dVruOlO4d88VtRSH9u38Zuq2J8iI6A_5dtCkBKkLjKXUFecUxzMTbXve2aFjvCLpFAd7PScWgfjpV0XJYWoC5cMkbNIvw4b5dUTytOo8O5AuLimrFCfErJryuMo/s560/compactblogger.jpg" /></a></div><br />For that we need to use a browser extension than can apply new CSS rules to existing pages, like <a href="https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stylebot/oiaejidbmkiecgbjeifoejpgmdaleoha">Stylebot</a> for Chrome. And after installing it you just need to add the following rule set, <a href="https://github.com/darkufo/Blogger-Compact-Dashboard">slightly modified from this one available on GitHub</a>, for the blogger.com site.<br />

Sure, it doesn't fix evereything, lie all the new editor bugs and quirks; but at least it makes the Blogger blogs main screen manageable once again. I still hope the new Blogger will eventually offer an official compact view, but until then, desktop users hoping to mimick the old blogger look, can resort to this technique to get it right away.<br />

<a href="http://www.internetbestsecrets.com/2020/07/covid-19-makes-face-id-nuisance-will.html" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="873" data-original-width="1310" height="390" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifo2Qiup2k4cFqm89RGz5ld1Zh-6np74hgvn89JF1cFm2UaZORbgi6RpxdpX74s1Lq-LLrcVvPs3kzAF0udsf9f0x5RmwUk9G5wQ9Pquq2UnVOHOXA-u-CMGE-KFoJ7GuGrJy4_ZWXI0o/s1600/facerecognition.jpg" width="590" /></a></div>
<br />
Covid-19 has transformed the habits of our society and, with the widespread (and in some cases mandatory) use of face masks, it also reveals that companies that went all-in on facial recognition systems as a way to unlock smartphones, as is the case with Apple with its Face ID, made the wrong move.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Contrary to what was expected at the time - that Apple would adopt a fingerprint sensor on the screen - Apple chose to adopt only a facial recognition system (Face ID) from the iPhone X onward. Even though it was a technological leap at the time, it does not solve the issue of not working with a face mask on. The convenience of taking an iPhone out and, almost instantly being unlocked and ready to use, disappears, and instead we go back to the days where we need to manually enter a PIN or password.<br />
<br />
The use of face masks has launched <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2020/7/28/21344751/facial-recognition-face-masks-accuracy-nist-study">chaos among facial recognition systems</a>, but if we focus only on the regular smartphone use on a daily basis, it reveals how reckless the bet on facial recognition as the single authentication method was/is. To make matters worst, this happens at a time when the smartphone is used more and more, as a payment method for instance, making the added inconvenience of unlocking it even more burdensome. The ritual of taking an iPhone out and having it ready to make a payment with just a glance of your face (via Face ID) is gone; and you're now back into typing a PIN code, or pulling down the mask so it can recognize you.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirIiQ_dMx0VYjuNgWPRBWGdwHXfG0zFxkYXlf0sXgivXfyd1o85wQd957FOL040NagyTGs7rlZ7ujY_i9wwMGuZ7lmq2GF9XhyZ-owhSD0jEb3lIx-_tTFX7X9pd86I2iiIkhu8dC-kPw/s1600/finger.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="1280" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirIiQ_dMx0VYjuNgWPRBWGdwHXfG0zFxkYXlf0sXgivXfyd1o85wQd957FOL040NagyTGs7rlZ7ujY_i9wwMGuZ7lmq2GF9XhyZ-owhSD0jEb3lIx-_tTFX7X9pd86I2iiIkhu8dC-kPw/s520/finger.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Nothing has been heard so far about the possibility of Apple adding a Touch ID on the screen to the iPhone 12, but this seems to be essential for this new post-Covid-19 era. If this year's iPhone 12 comes only with Face ID yet again, and taking into account that the mandatory use of face masks in public spaces should <a href="https://abertoatedemadrugada.com/2020/07/google-prolonga-trabalho-em-casa-ate-2021.html">remain in place for a long while</a>, the iPhone 12 unlocking process will continue to be anything but practical. Hopefully, in September, Apple will surprise us by announcing that the iPhone 12 has both Face ID as well as Touch ID integrated on-screen; otherwise... will be paying top dollar for a high-end device that makes us go back nearly a decade to the days of the pre-Touch ID iPhones.Carlos Martinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06977756139964818233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-506492938749742916.post-68823665461470807212020-03-02T13:00:00.000+00:002020-03-02T13:00:07.948+00:00Botnet is a social network where everyone is famous<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.internetbestsecrets.com/2020/03/botnet-is-social-network-where-everyone.html" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1068" data-original-width="1600" height="390" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPH2nFMvCD63EMNdN87S9VAyCB_PAT28Zr4hsDKH7KdLgXY3ShkMrfXy7RPleGPJXeRv57tX846TEODA_ib0fOmqr0G45xYdSgew7wArcdERID-Zj1pXr4QsrWfFYdSCbwixIbwVRzfRo/s1600/botnetlikes.jpg" width="590" /></a></div>
<br />
Anyone wanting to get a feel for what it's like to be a star online can now do so on the Botnet network, that catch is that the thousands of people liking and commenting your posts are not real.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Botnets are mostly associated with negative purposes, attacks by hackers, but in this case it is a very peaceful and positive botnet. This <a href="https://startbotnet.com/">social network Botnet</a> allows all users to have hundreds of thousands of followers right away, eager to leave likes and positive comments to everything that you post there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3xFtEbuOm7XKxuxJsKdz30z8Hxs_VOPTiB0RI2VL4NrjzwXNBCvWw7TShfv5TCfurr3PLS34wSAlWeZIQxYZ_1SGkx0bzwRAXNluSiLE80EoldNWnVdxnne74UFo5hCNywDSZYtwtdUM/s1600/botnet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="773" data-original-width="1243" height="248" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3xFtEbuOm7XKxuxJsKdz30z8Hxs_VOPTiB0RI2VL4NrjzwXNBCvWw7TShfv5TCfurr3PLS34wSAlWeZIQxYZ_1SGkx0bzwRAXNluSiLE80EoldNWnVdxnne74UFo5hCNywDSZYtwtdUM/s400/botnet.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The service is free and allows anyone to join a social network that, even though it is composed entirely of digital interactions with bots, produces real positive effects. As its creator says, when you're dealing with millions of followers, you don't get to know <a href="https://www.wired.com/story/botnet-social-network-where-everyones-influencer/">who is real and who is a bot</a> anyway.<br />
<br />
You can even unlock some extra features, like double the number os followers, as well as enable (fake) troll comments - an option that seems to be quite popular. Fortunately, they come in a much smaller number than you'd likely face in real life, and which can be turned off at any time (also unlike what would happen in real life).<br />
<br />
It is still a fun experience, and it can be the perfect "fix" for those tired of social networks with real people. :)Carlos Martinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06977756139964818233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-506492938749742916.post-83088316687657708342019-10-04T13:08:00.000+01:002019-10-04T15:19:36.874+01:00Portuguese app DuetCam records dual-cam video on iPhone <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.internetbestsecrets.com/2019/10/portuguese-app-duetcam-records-dual-cam-video-iphone.html" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="410" data-original-width="780" height="310" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVnylQl0YQn2LGuSzKKEYiLIfHyqDRz-HWhPd0TX8VX39O-8eZGEk4lT2V017SubW3fm8opYWBJaazn1BAyO9Y560IJ5FvzOPSZO4X5BQ6S9ljRp33ltYB9XA99sD_SRPrOb6k4geDNPc/s1600/duet_.jpeg" width="590" /></a></div>
<br />
On the <a href="https://abertoatedemadrugada.com/2019/09/apple-apresenta-iphone-11-pro-pro-max.html">iPhone 11 presentation</a> one of the highlights was when Filmic Pro demoed 4-camera video recording on the iPhone 11 Pro. But if you want something simples, just to record videos from the rear and front camera, you can try the DuetCam app, made in Portugal.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>The <a href="https://apps.apple.com/pt/app/duetcam/id1481323447?l=pt">DuetCam</a> app is as easy to use as it gets. It allows you to record video where the front camera shows as up as a small windows in the video from the rear camera - just what you need to make sure the person that usually is never seen on family photos / videos (because they're always behind the smartphone) can finally show up right next to the action.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="giphy-embed" frameborder="0" height="270" src="https://giphy.com/embed/USz4GVctsPwmmEiV0C" width="480"></iframe></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
[<a href="https://giphy.com/gifs/duetcam-USz4GVctsPwmmEiV0C">demo</a> - from the app creator himself <a href="https://twitter.com/schmitzoide">Marcel Schmitz</a>]</div>
<br />
There are however some things to be aware of. The app only works on newer iPhones: iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, iPhone 11,11 Pro and 11 Pro Max; with iOS 13.<br />
<br />
For now, you can only record video, in either portrait or landscape orientation, but there's lots of new features coming in the near future, such as a movable floating window, ability to snap photos, swap cameras (so the front camera becomes full-screen and the rear camera shows on the small window); and so on.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5GhcXup-HgtvSaur9GuWijxkT6rtXFlb3b7BhsILJz6uXaK7gR5m7vPZAtbBwpMN-HgwT2P7w-HS2i-cGAh-LUhW7JnOs-9R9-tn-1ysDc2GpM8mspdNpWoOSi4hy5BDEfSNaGCE-OfM/s1600/duet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="482" data-original-width="973" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5GhcXup-HgtvSaur9GuWijxkT6rtXFlb3b7BhsILJz6uXaK7gR5m7vPZAtbBwpMN-HgwT2P7w-HS2i-cGAh-LUhW7JnOs-9R9-tn-1ysDc2GpM8mspdNpWoOSi4hy5BDEfSNaGCE-OfM/s560/duet.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
If you have a supported iPhone, be sure to give it a try <a href="https://apps.apple.com/pt/app/duetcam/id1481323447?l=pt">DuetCam</a> and support a portuguese app developer along the way. :)Carlos Martinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06977756139964818233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-506492938749742916.post-91471458146915019372019-09-02T13:56:00.000+01:002019-09-02T17:03:59.376+01:00Google Calendar event images<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.internetbestsecrets.com/2019/09/google-calendar-event-images.html" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="720" data-original-width="1088" height="380" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6vHfFTZI43Nb7ocx3wLnmknPdrM_jPkKjzQbZcl7K2WnYnoKP5BVyT2ACAyGTinSMxZR4cUxydkFVBH5IgszQ_eXgh_lPQF0YeqBJdd5DIDC4LIFtHFGDP5uh5UR8KgKLQ80sB2Hmxhs/s1600/gcalendarthemes.jpg" width="590" /></a></div><br />
When we create events in Google Calendar, there's a chance you might end up with a customized image that will allow for a easier visual inspection of our calendar.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>Google Calendar flairs have been around for years, but I've just recently noticed it when adding a Karate event and being surprised with a Kimono on the event card. After some googling around I found out there are dozens of these "flairs" for lots of different activities, and I just didn't notice it sooner because the Google Calendar app shows up images related to the event location (such as street view imagery).<br />
<br />

<a href="http://www.internetbestsecrets.com/2019/08/mokibo-combines-keyboard-and-touchpad.html" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="447" data-original-width="695" height="370" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNnjEmqDqAFLED4tM5POzmFsrqCf10LFgc6MDcXuYc3sxvlXUcAqSMlzKdM0r0FjwOVxl-cjEbNb-CnwZRmn1gOfGFk2nlGTEqEwbCCD30SXrkKlsmTRH4w4WcdXFkk3vCGuiyyZpF2S4/s1600/mokibo.jpg" width="590" /></a></div>
<br />
Mokibo is a keyboard that brings to the real world the possibility of using the trackpad without taking the fingers off the keys.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>One of iOS's best tricks is the ability to press hard on the virtual keyboard to access a trackpad mode that makes it a lot easier to adjust the cursor to the right spot. For a long time, people have been wandering what it would take to do the same with a physical keyboard, and that's precisely what Mokibo does.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/mokibo-2-in-1-keyboard-embedded-with-touchpad/x/163995#/">Mokibo</a> is a keyboard that can be used as a trackpad across its entire keyboard area. Instead of constantly jumping between the keys and a mouse or trackoad, simply pressing the section that activates trackpad mode allows us to move the mouse pointer / cursor by sliding the fingers over the keys. And it evens supports multi-touch gestures and all.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi49MSVKLZyqodyHXo55xNgqjtm-CTSWwGRbAGNeQlQKSUIwl-8nTNdg8ebQkrYabqGJOb_qUNN4QiC40dbiJe9qksA1XSgk_e2NE6_QMMQXebcaTcwH1yD7vdpsEvmxNsO3P8SRohjYUc/s1600/mokibo_.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="447" data-original-width="695" height="256" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi49MSVKLZyqodyHXo55xNgqjtm-CTSWwGRbAGNeQlQKSUIwl-8nTNdg8ebQkrYabqGJOb_qUNN4QiC40dbiJe9qksA1XSgk_e2NE6_QMMQXebcaTcwH1yD7vdpsEvmxNsO3P8SRohjYUc/s400/mokibo_.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The only "cons" I can think of at the moment is that the keys themselves don't seem to be very comfortable to use, and there may be some situations where this system might now work (for example, when you need to press some keys while using the trackpad at the same time - I suppose touching these keys will affect the cursor position).<br />
<br />
Still, I hope it's the kind of functionality that can come as standard on all keyboards in the future. It may not completely replace a dedicated mouse or trackpad, but for most scenarios it will make it a lot easier to move the pointer while typing.<br />
<br />
For those interested, it is <a href="https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/mokibo-2-in-1-keyboard-embedded-with-touchpad/x/163995#/">priced at 108 euros</a>, works with PCs, Macs, iOS and Android, and has delivery promised for this month if you can catch the super early bird deal.<br />

<a href="http://www.internetbestsecrets.com/2019/07/elon-musks-neuralink-aims-to-connect.html" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="613" data-original-width="920" height="390" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgWAPHds_HBqKybNMZNrPWm9RpfwW7Vhf_VHWj3PiBzXDtRTFZQbZejCoaTVbJDzOo296PSLDzJiZwEAEyLcaPP7AhppJ3AzB15jc3W1dzU5_ZsppE19cm0EroD37Mfl8qmjUeqog0W4F4/s1600/neuralink.jpg" width="590" /></a></div>
<br />
Elon Musk has finally unveiled the plans of his mysterious Neuralink, that hopes to connect brains to computers as soon as next year (2020).<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>The idea of creating a direct interface with the brain is not new. The problem is that existing systems are either unreliable (using external sensors) or too intrusive (requiring complicated and risky surgical interventions, and materials that require extra care in day-to-day or long term use). Problems that Neuralink believes to have overcome.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDw7QTZUMwBjs1s4uVLRm7EOAzvtDXcK9TTubWgcF7llwWQ1M7TE-vNP2lmaOoJtxc6XWUk6cPRz-lpa_VIEfSC_kOTje2Dp5hCsn7bLoMBSp-2H-3qQlAVu_phVsczVJA35WnkYxd8Rg/s1600/n1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="449" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDw7QTZUMwBjs1s4uVLRm7EOAzvtDXcK9TTubWgcF7llwWQ1M7TE-vNP2lmaOoJtxc6XWUk6cPRz-lpa_VIEfSC_kOTje2Dp5hCsn7bLoMBSp-2H-3qQlAVu_phVsczVJA35WnkYxd8Rg/s560/n1.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
With its N1 chip, Neuralink proposes a tiny chip that can be connected to the brain using ultra-thin cables that are only 4 to 6 μm - much thinner than a hair - and will allow the creation of a high-bandwidth channel for communication with the brain. The idea is that the process of connecting it to the brain is done by a robotic machine, without the need for complicated surgeries, using lasers to make tiny holes for inserting the cables instead of drilling. The chips would be powered by an external battery mounted on a earpiece behind the ear.<br />
<br />
The tests have been done on mice, but in the end of the presentation Elon Musk revealed that the system has already been tested with a monkey, allowing it to control a computer by thought alone. The first application in a human could happen next year; and although it will probably start with paralyzed people or people with motor disabilities... it could eventually become common enough to attract anyone wishing to have a faster and broader way to connect to the digital world .<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
... On the other hand, on the long run, should we have to start to worry about electronic viruses manipulating or thoughts and actions? What about ransomware infecting our brains and garbling our memories or turning us into vegetables unless we pay a ransom? Things will certainly be very interesting in the coming decades.<br />

Tesla's <a href="https://abertoatedemadrugada.com/2019/01/tesla-sentry-mode-vai-fazer-vigilancia.html">360º Sentry Mode</a> can now be enabled or disable via voice commands, and it doesn't even failed to include a Rick and Morty easter egg.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>With its latest update (2019.16.1) Tesla has made the Sentry Mode feature, that records 360º video from your Tesla while it's parked, easier to use. You can now enable or disable it simply by saying: "Turn Sentry Mode On/Off"; "Enable/Disable Sentry Mode"; or "Keep Tesla Safe" or "Keep Summer Safe" - these last ones being a <i>Rick and Morty</i> reference, as you can watch below.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/nj5txdmMacM" width="560"></iframe><br />
</div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/4tpYFen3fJM" width="560"></iframe><br />
</div><br />
If you don't feel like talking to your Tesla, you can also use a new shortcut on the top of the screen, allowing you to turn it on/off with a single touch.<br />
<br />
But if you plan on using the Sentry Mode all the time, you can also set it on and forget about it by going to "Controls ->; Safety & Security -> Sentry Mode -> On/Off". You can still disable the Sentry Mode manually on specified location, but that kind of defeats the purpose of keeping your Tesla "safe" all the time whenever your away from it.Carlos Martinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06977756139964818233noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-506492938749742916.post-45374670634434988662019-05-15T16:21:00.002+01:002019-05-15T16:21:50.018+01:00Statue of Liberty get Augmented Reality app<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Would you like to check the Statue of Liberty, in all its splendor, right in your living room? Well, now you can thanks the new <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/statue-of-liberty/id1457506359?mt=8">official Statue of Liberty app</a>.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a>The app allows us to check all there is to know about the iconic landmark, and - best of all - to see it in augmented reality, just as if it were right in front of our eyes. It even allows us to see a view no visitor has been able to see for over 100 years: the view from the torch, closed to the public in 1916.<br />
<blockquote>
The Statue of Liberty is more than a monument. She is a symbol of freedom to millions around the world. This app uses Augmented Reality and immersive storytelling to bring the Statue to life anywhere. Now you can experience the iconic monument from wherever you are.<br />
<br />
The app features multiple AR experiences that allow you to explore the iconic monument from new perspectives and at new depths. Through the app, users can access the Statue in ways that few have been able to do before. A rich curation of stories and visual media walks you through more than 150 years of the Statue’s history — from her origins in France in 1865 to the opening of the new Statue of Liberty Museum in May 2019. The app also features two immersive audio experiences: An exclusive podcast transports listeners to critical moments in the Statue of Liberty’s history; and an interactive audio tour guides visitors to 35 points of interest as they explore Liberty Island on foot.<br />
<br />
Experience a rare view from the Statue of Liberty’s torch, wherever you are. This AR experience offers breathtaking views of Liberty Island and the expansive New York Harbor. Watch the New York City skyline as the sun rises and falls. No one has seen this view since 1916, when public access to the torch was shut down.<br />
<br />
Study a life-size 3D model of the Statue of Liberty’s left foot using Augmented Reality. Place the model in front of you, pinch and zoom in to scale, and marvel at its size.<br />
<br />
To complement the launch of the new museum, the Statue of Liberty app provides access to an audio tour and guided map when visiting the island. In addition, a newly released podcast, Raising the Torch, is available for all users to listen whether they’re getting ready to visit Liberty Island or exploring from thousands of miles away. This specially produced podcast includes first-person narratives and interviews with historians, who tell the fascinating and winding origin story of the iconic Statue of Liberty.</blockquote>
