iPhone 3Gs Multitasking

For those doubting the power of the new iPhone 3Gs, here's a video showing how it handles running 3 apps at the same time (yes, the elusive multitasking Apple doesn't allow us to do) including a straming audio App, and two intensive 3d racing games: Need For Speed Underground and Firemint Real Racing.

  1. What did you have to do to get this to work? Are the individual programs written to allow them to go into the background themselves? id you use the home button to go between applications? how did you actually stop the applications when you were done

  2. How did you get this to work? Are the programs written to be capable to go into background? I noticed the little popup when you sent them to background.

How did you switch between programs? Home button?

How did you eventually end the programs?

  3. @Geep

That's done via a "backgrounder" program that exists for jailbroken iPhones.
It's not possible on regular iPhones.
It works with any App, and you can easily quit any app by pressing the home button a little longer (as you can see in the info here.)
