Shared.com offers 100GB of Free Cloud Space

There's no lack of cloud storage space these days, and newcomers need to offer something important if they hope to attract some users. Most of the time that equates to offering more space than the competition, and this shared.com certainly catches our attention by offering 100GB of free cloud space.

However, this prompted me to consider the following - and keep in mind that this has nothing to do with this particular service, as it applies to any other of its kind. I find it quite horrifying that so many people are willing to trust any and all services with their personal data. As in, I could create a "cloud storage" service that offered 1TB of free space, and just wait for users to begin pouring their data in, potentially gaining access to some sensible information along the way - and closing down the service whenever the objective was fulfilled (without ever having to do good on the "promise" of the free space for all).

Unlike all those hacking attacks that steal user data, this approach would make it even easier for anyone to grab much more data without even have to resort to hacking!

My point is... maybe it would be better if people weren't so trusting to any and every site/service on the web that offers something for free.

That being said, if you do want 100GB of cloud space for your files, do give shared.com a try.
