After nipples, Facebook will soon begin to target belly buttons as undesirable body elements in photos, and you better be extra careful when posting photos in the world's largest social network.

Google revolutionizes computer programming with Talk-to-do

Some say that the language everyone needs to learn these days is not a "human language" but a computer language. Programming is becoming essential in our day and age, where computers have the potential to do everything we want. But not everyone is able to speak "computer language", and even when they do, they often fail to translate their ideas into something computers can understand. But soon, all that can change... and anyone and everyone might be able to make their dreams come true.

Just the other day we saw how anyone can do complex tasks using easily understandable common language. Now, with this new Talk-to-do project by Google, thing will get even simpler.

Instead of having to learn a computer language, this project allows you to simple talk to your computer and tell it what you want to do! You can thing of it as a mashup of wolfram dynamic language, Google Now voice actions, Siri, IFTTT, and more - all mixed together to make whatever you want come true.

Want to make a program that alerts you whenever a Facebook friend goes out of town? Simply say something like: "Send me an email whenever a Facebook friend goes out of town". Yes, it's that simple.

In a closed session demo, Google engineers showed how you could easily code a pac-man style game using nothing but your voice (even the graphic elements were created by simply describing it to the computer - and the system is intelligent enough to ask you for added details whenever it needs to do so).

This will definitely revolutionize the way people interact with computers, and I can't wait to see what "regular people" will be able to code using Talk-to-do when Google opens it up to the public. Computer programming will never be the same again.

Facebook to Block Access to People over 25

Social networks seem to be going crazy these days. Twitter is closing the doors to third-party Twitter clients; Google has been shutting down services hoping user will move onto Google+; and now Facebook does something that may be just the tip of the iceberg of things to come: Facebook is about to become the fist age restricted social network.

Starting today, Facebook users over 25 years old will be unable to login into their accounts. Mark Zuckerberg says it's time for old people to ruin the experience for younger people; and that when a teenager uploads a sexy photo of her, it's not her intention to be poked around by "dirty old men". So, enough is enough, and according to the Facebook Founder, when people  grow old, it's time for them to move out of Facebook, and to more mature social networks, like LinkedIn.

If you're thinking of trying to fool Facebook by simply entering a valid birthdate, don't bother. From now on, new Facebook users will need to be vouched for by three existing users. If FB finds out you're not really under 25 (like being reported by someone else), then you'll be kicked out as well as all of them! So, it's not hard to imagine no one will want to risk vouching for any "fakes".

Will this be the beginning of age restricted and age tiered social networks? We'll see how other networks react to this unexpected Facebook announcement... and if they'll follow with similar tactics.

Trans-Oceanic Cables will be Laser Cleaned for Faster Internet

As you might be aware, the Internet doesn't have its global reach by magic. There's an entire infrastructure all around the world that allows data packets to zoom along at light speed, transporting all sorts of data to wherever it's needed... and that includes fiber optic cables crossing thousands of miles across the oceans and connecting different continents.

However, as you'd might expect, transporting trillions of bits of data each and every second over these cables has its consequences... a phenomenon known as bit rot leaves some of these bits stuck on optic cables, degrading its performance over time.

But fear not. Scientists have devised a cleaning method that will restore these fiber optic cables to full performance using high power pulse lasers.

Though they say most people shouldn't notice any internet connection issues, they warn that those who have a fiber to the home (FTTH) internet connection might experience some odd flashing pulses of light - and they say users might want to wear their sunglasses during the cleaning hours just to be safe.

The laser cleaning schedules will be posted in the next couple of weeks, and we'll keep you posted about the fiber optic cables cleaning status as it proceeds.

Google Cancels Android

Exclusive hot news: Google just announced it will abandon the Android project completely!

The recent widespread hacker attack, targetting the platform, succeeded in infecting and taking control over every single android device in the world, through a previously undetected security flaw, fiving the attackers full control over every Android device and free access to all you private information: from your Google account details and all your emails, to every other service you used through your smartphone (twitter, Faceboo, bank account info, etc.)
Not even a ROM reflash will do you any good, as the vulnerability will make your device immediately compromised again.

The only solution is to remove its battery and go back to using a Symbian Smartphone.

Google stock is now worth basically nothing, and... this is all it takes to take down a giant, in a single day.

Thankfully, tomorrow is an entirely different day... ;)

YouTube TEXTp Text Video Mode

ASCII text animation fans will have a field day! YouTube just announced its new text mode video TEXTp!

... A bit more serious, Google has finally pushed forward its new YouTube video pages (you could try it out in the last couple of weeks, optionally) - in which, for instance, the 5 star rating system is replaced by a simpler like/dislike option.

Let's see how the public reacts to these changes (which are never "easy"; people resist change by "instinct"!)

iPhone Virus via Skype

Just a couple of days after Skype for the iPhone has been launched, it gets back to the spotlight because of a rather nasty aspect: this App is vulnerable to a virus that can erase all your iPhone data.

This security flaw is triggered when you answer a skype call - usually from an unknown caller - sending an audio strean of digitally encoded data; something that sounds like a fax call (or ZX spectrum tapes, if you've been around that long) and takes advantage of the usually inactive analog modem in the iPhone hardware.

In just a few seconds your iPhone will start erasing all its data and revert back to factory mode.

Be afraid, be very afraid!
