Ring Video Doorbell Pro showed users people ringing other houses

Having a "smart" video doorbell that can alert us when people are at our door wherever we are sounds great... until the moment it starts showing you who's ringing other people's doors.

Quirky goes bust - Wink future uncertain

Our homes may be getting smarter, but that means they are becoming more and more reliant on companies that may not last as long as we hoped. Wink may be one more victim, as Quirky files for banckrupcy.

Automatic Bed Auto-Makes Itself

We might not yet have achieved the robotic butler idea, that would once and for all relieve us of the bothersome daily tasks at home, but if you're the kind of person that is annoyed by having to make their bed every single day... you might be off the hook.

Thanks to this self-making smart bed by OHEA, making the bed takes just the press of a button. Two robotic arms popup from the sides, and straighten the bed cover, while other systems straighten and raise the pillows before gently lowering them into place.

In less than a minute, your bed is back to its original shape. While this might not yet be exactly what we'de hope for (it requires special bed covers; and isn't yet equipped to deal with several layers of bed sheets/covers) this sure looks like a great start.

Touchscreen Digiframe with Embedded PC

It seems that the netbook craze is finally expanding into other areas. And surprisinigly, it is HP that seems to be taking advantage of it by introducing the Atom platform into a new - and very interesting - area.

There are rumors that indicate HP to be working on a Atom-based Digiframe with touchscreen that will allow you to have a computer anywhere you'd have a digital photo frame... for less that $400.

As you can imagine, this would open up a lot of opportunities for people with "smart-homes", where similar control panels usually cost a lot more than that and offer a lot less.

Lets hope HP delivers on this - or any other manufacturer - as this would certainly be a huge success.
