Android is Getting Closer

While most people around the world are counting the days until July 11th - the day iPhone 3G gets out - one must keep in mind that one year from now, things will certainly be a lot different.

Why?

Because of Android, Google's mobile platform that will bring a common OS and great applications for everyone.

Unfortunately, things are still in development, and I don't think we'll see any of it before 2009.

However, thing definitely look great. Take Enkin for instance:
"Enkin" introduces a new handheld navigation concept. It displays location-based content in a unique way that bridges the gap between reality and classic map-like representations. It combines GPS, orientation sensors, 3D graphics, live video, several web services and a novel user interface into an intuitive and light navigation system for mobile devices.

(However, no matter how much I love Android, I'm afraid I'll be getting a 3G iPhone till then.)
