Microsoft Labs Seadragon

Those guys at Microsoft Live Labs sure have great ideas (remember Photosynth and Surface?)
But today, I'm here to tell you about Seadragon.

Their objective is simple... In a time where we frequentely have to deal with pictures "weighing" dozens/hundreds/thousands of megapixels - and now one likes to wait - Seadragon allows you to do what has never been done before:
  1. Speed of navigation is independent of the size or number of objects.
  2. Performance depends only on the ratio of bandwidth to pixels on the screen.
  3. Transitions are smooth as butter.
  4. Scaling is near perfect and rapid for screens of any resolution.
And if you have any doubt they can pull it off, just see it for yourself in the following video:

I definitely want one of those!
