Google with Image Voice and Instant Results

Google has learned how mobile users better use search and decided to bring some of those mobile features to the desktop. Searching by voice, imagem, and even instant page results are some of the things you'll be able to notice starting today.

Voice Search

It's nothing new if you're using Google on your Android or iPhone smartphone, but now you'll be able to do voice search in your desktop with the web version of Google.

Image Search

Improving on the Google Goggles experience - the image recognition and search system that can even solve Sudoku puzzles - Google now brings that image search capability to the web.

You can drag and drop an image into the search box, upload an image from your computer, or simply copy paste an image URL into Google Images to search for it.

There are also Chrome and Firefox extensions that allow you to search by right clicking on any image.
(This is being rolled out as we speak, and you should get it in the next few days).

Instant Pages Results

Last but not least, knowing that no one is keen on waiting for a page to load and render, Google took the page prefetch concept even further and now presents us Instant Pages.

Instead of just prefetching the most likely result page you're looking for, Chrome will completely prerender the page, making it instantly available by the time you actually press the result link.

For now, it's only available for the developer version of Chrome, but it should arrive to the "public" version this Summer.
And, it won't benefit just Google's results. Any web developer will be able to use this prerender technique to speed up their site's navigation as well.)
