Windows 8 Consumer Preview (and System Requirements)

As promissed, Microsoft, has brought us its latest Windows 8 Consumer Preview, so that every one can begin to see what the upcoming Windows has to offer.

This is basically a public beta version of Windows 8, that will serve to ease the transition to the new OS (anyone can begin to try it out right now), as well as provide valuable feedback for Microsoft to fix any "annoyances" before the final finished product.

This consumer preview already has Window Store enabled, and you can either try it as a Windows 7 upgrade, or install it fresh via these Windows 8 ISO images.

And if you're wondering if your computer can run the new Windows 8 - well... if you're running Windows 7 right now than you'll have no problem, as the Win8 system requirements are quite "basic" :
  • 1GHz CPU
  • 1GB of RAM (2GB for 64-bit)
  • 16GB disk space (20GB for 64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 Graphic card with WDDM 1.0 support
Other than that, you'll need to have a minimum 1024x768 resolution to run Metro Apps, and 1366x768 to snap apps.

Give it a try, and let us know what you feel about it. :)
