Accidents happen, and while you're driving all it takes is a fraction of a second for your life and/or others to change forever. This new video takes just 30 seconds of your time, but everyone should see it.
In the next decade we might get self-driving cars that take care of things, allowing us to freely text and use our smartphones and tablets while on the road. But until then, if you're the one holding the wheel, try and remember if reading or answering a text message really is worth risking your life, your friends' and family, or someone else's.
If you do find it unavoidable, at least put your smartphone to good use and find ways to use it without looking at it, using text-to-speech apps that can read your messages aloud, and voice recognition to send messages without typing and taking your eyes off the road.
