Cameraman puts iPhone 6 and professional broadcast camera to the test

Smartphone cameras have improved a lot over the past few years, and that makes it easy to forget just how much more they still need to improve. Something that is clearly shown by comparing a iPhone 7 with a professional broadcast TV camera.

The abysmal differences between and iPhone and pro camera are literally "night and day". It's hard to believe just how much light a broadcast camera can capture compared to the iPhone - even though we're talking about differently sized sensors. In fact, it's a comparison that is almost "apples to oranges" (pun intended).

Anyway, maybe this comparison is a sign that pro cameras manufacturers are weary of the rumors stating the new iPhone will have a vastly improved camera that will rival a DSLR.

In any case, it's a shame this smartphone-vs-pro camera test only shows night footage, putting the smaller sensor size smartphone cameras at an even greater disadvantage. It would be nice to see how they fare under broad daylight, and if the differences would be so dramatic.
