You can now crash Skype with 8 simple characters

Just the other day you may have had some fun crashing your friends iPhones messages, now you may have to face their revenge, as 8 simple characters are all it takes to completely crash your Skype.

While the iMessage bug required you to send an very weird looking unicode character sequence, you need a much simpler sequence to crash Skype - one that you can type yourself without any special tricks. You need only to send (or not) this simple sequence:

Yes, it seems harmless... but don't let it fool you, as it will crash the most recent Skype versions really hard, to the point that you may have to completely uninstall it and reinstall an older version withtout this bug. Something you won't be able to do if you're using Skype on iOS or Android, which are also plagued by this bug.

Curiously, Skype for OS X is not affected, neither is the touch-version of Skype for Windows 8.1. But just in case, you better stay off Skype until Microsoft issues a fix... unless you're really certain you can trust your Skype contacts and friends.

... Can you? :)
