Android Wear 1.3 arrives with interactive watch faces and Google Translate

Android Wear 1.3 is out and heading to all the Android smartphones out there, and it comes with some nifty new features, such as interactive watch faces and embedded Google Translate.

Just like it had been previously hinted by some rumors, the most visible change with this new Android Wear is the support for interactive watch faces that open up a whole new world of possibilities for developers.

Instead of a simple watch face, you'll now be able to choose watch faces that offer a wide range of interactions, not only for showing stuff like the weather or upcoming appointments, but also things as turning lights on/off, opening your garage door, or whatever the developers can come up with. There's a new interactive watch face section on Google Play - and if you liked the second animation above, it's the immensely customizable Pujie Black watch face.

Should you ever feel the need to understand a different language, or make yourself heard in one, your smartwatch has you covered as well. This new Android Wear 1.3 comes with Google Translate even if you don't have it installed in your smartphone. You just need to talk into it and let it work its magic.

And last but not least, if you're a LG G Watch R owner, then you'll like to know this update also adds WiFi support for you watch; which will allow you to keep using it even if you forgot your smartphone at home (as long as you're in range of a trusted WiFi network).
