Kickstarter has allowed lots of projects to become real, but we now have one that seems straight out of a sci-fi movie: a laser razor.
Let me start by stating that I'm highly skeptical of this project; but I would have no problem being proven wrong. In fact, I do hope they succeed and Skarp becomes the first, real-life, laser razor we'd all like to have.
Sure, there are already some "laser razors" on the market, but those only use a laser to create a light guide that shows where the mechanical razors will cut your hair/beard. This projects aims to change that with a real laser cutting your hairs (and not your skin, hopefully) all while ending the throwing away of discarded razors and not even requiring water or shaving cream to work.
It really sound to good to be true, and we all know what happens in most such cases. However, if you're willing to bet $189 on a dream that is already on it's way to surpass the 2 millions of funding, just go for it and hope for the best.
Update: Kickstarter suspended the project.
