Uber makes cars and customers easier to spot with new SPOT color system

Uber may be one of the easiest apps to use, but it isn't always easy to figure out which car is actually "ours" (nor it is any easier for a Uber drivers to figure out who actually called for him/her). But that's something Uber is working on and might soon be a lot easier thanks to the new color SPOT system.

Finding out who is who usually requires the driver to call the customer, so they can both identify each other, but Uber is trying out a cooler way to do it in Seattle via its colorful SPOT system.

With SPOT, the customer is given the chance to select a color, which will light up on a LED bar mounted on the windshield of the Uber when it gets close. This way, you'll be able to quickly see which car is yours - and you can also make your smartphone screen light up in a matching color, so the driver can also identify you.

Give the low cost of a LED bar (even considering the matchin wireless RGB LED controller) I think Uber shouldn't think more about it and make this SPOT available worldwide. Heck, I can even imagine they could sell the SPOT system to non-Uber drivers. :)
