The importance of Women in Science
We may be in the 21st century, but some people still think women aren't "suited" for several areas of work traditionally associated with men. Well, you'd be surprised to know that women are pioneering discoveries in lots of scientific areas, and have been doing so for over 2000 years.
Perimeter Institute has honored 17 pioneering women in science that have left their mark (and some still doing so) ranging from the ancient Greece to the modern times, in areas as varied as mathematics and astrophysics to biology and computer science.
May they serve as an inspiration to all young women dreaming of pursuing a career in these - or any other - areas.
