EA silently removes over a dozen classic games from the App Store

EA isn't particularly looked upon by gamers as being a gamer-friendly company, and it seems determined to keep it that way. Now, they thought it would be a great idea to remove dozens of games from the App Store... as if no one would notice.

If you head to the App Store in search of games like:

  • Bejeweled 2
  • Burnout™ CRASH!
  • Dead Space
  • Don't Fall Off
  • Flight Control
  • Flight Control Rocket
  • Fly With Me
  • Lemonade Tycoon
  • MASS EFFECT™ INFILTRATOR
  • MMA by EA SPORTS™
  • Need for Speed Shift
  • Real Racing
  • Sims Medieval by EA
  • Skate It by EA
  • Spore™ Creatures
  • Spore™ Origins
  • SPY Mouse

Don't be surprised not to find them there. Worse still, EA didn't even announced the removal of these games until the day they actually removed it - and even then, only in a buried paged, hidden where no one would find it.

Sure, there are lots of more recent games... but that is no excuse not to keep these older games available, should anyone want to try them out (in fact, many of them are still fun to play.) The only "good news" is that users that have already bought these games will still be able to reinstall them even if they've deleted it from their devices. But for all those who never tried it before... there's no way for you to do so from now on.
